Heavy Rain, Thunderstorm Until This Evening

Expect more wet weather today.

According to MetMalaysia, heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely for most parts of the country until 5pm.

It covers the whole of Perak, Pahang, Selangor, KL, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor, as well as parts of Kelantan,  Terengganu and Sarawak.

This, as several parts of Shah Alam were hit by flash floods last night following heavy downpours.  

Rising waters, up to half a metre deep, were also reported in Kampung Melayu Subang, but no evacuations were ordered.  

Parts of Ipoh were also hit by flash floods.

The Shah Alam City Council has been ordered to take immediate action to prevent more cases of fallen trees.  

The state disaster management committee says this includes removing and replacing ageing trees that have weak or decaying root structures.  

This, after two people were injured yesterday when a tree fell over and crushed their car.

Both are still under medical observation in hospital.

The JPJ has detained three express bus drivers in Seremban and Melaka, after they allegedly tested positive for drugs during its Chinese New Year special operation.  

In the same operation, the JPJ also handed fines to over 7,000 motorcyclists for various offences.

In his Chinese New Year message, PM Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stressed on the need for mutual respect among all communities in Malaysia regardless of culture or belief.

A family of five has been found dead at a house in Kuantan, Pahang, and cops believe they may have been murdered.

Separately, police are hunting down three suspects who allegedly threw firecrackers at a senior citizen's house in Seremban at the weekend.

Prosecutors in Austria have filed terrorism charges against a 21-year-old suspect who was allegedly planning an attack on a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna back in 2024.
