PDRM: Pilot Allegedly Smuggled Drugs Since 2024

Cops believe that the pilot accused of smuggling drugs into Indonesia had been actively doing such activities for around two years.  

According to Bukit Aman, investigators obtained this info while questioning the suspect, who remains under custody in Indonesia.  

Its Narcotics Chief adds that so far, investigators have found no evidence of KLIA staff being involved in the alleged smuggling syndicate.  

The pilot was arrested upon landing in Jakarta recently, after he allegedly had tens of thousands of pills in his possession.

The situation in Penang is under control, after tremors were reported in the state following yesterday’s strong earthquake in North Sumatera.  

Its chief minister also confirmed that authorities have not received any reports of damage or injuries.  

The North Sumatera quake happened hours after a 7.7-magnitude earthquake in eastern Indonesia’s Flores Island, which killed at least 47 people.

Wisma Putra says 16 Malaysian tourists are confirmed safe following the Flores Island earthquake.  

It also advised all Malaysians living in or travelling to affected regions to remain vigilant, prioritise their personal safety and strictly follow any safety instructions issued by local authorities.

Also, MetMalaysia says another earthquake, measuring magnitude 6.1 was detected in Sulawesi just after midnight, with tremors likely felt in Tawau, Lahad Datu and Semporna.

However, there was no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
